Entry 2

Dates: 5/14/11 and 5/25/11
Activities: Wedding and bridal portrait session
Technical Information: DSLR cameras, tripods, light detectors, remote flashes, light reflector
Reflection: Throughout my internship I will mainly be working at weddings with the occasional bridal portrait session and studio work. At this point I don’t know what all will be involved with studio work, but I do know I’ll be learning a lot about Adobe Photoshop. May 25th was my first bridal portrait session and I got to experience firsthand how word of mouth can help a business. Tammy deals with many brides and most of them know each other in some way and have recommended her to one another to photograph their weddings. The bride’s name was Lauren and for her bridal portrait session we went to a fancy hotel and golf course in Pittsboro to take pictures. It was a lot of fun and in addition to keeping track of the equipment, I was also in charge of using a white sheet to put under Lauren’s dress so that it would stay clean no matter where we took the picture (sometimes on grass, dusty/dirty bricks, etc.). I also found out that I will also be photographing Lauren’s wedding later in the year.
